The German Poker Days Mystery Bounty tournament, with a buy-in of €199 (€124 into the prize pool + €75 bounty), attracted a total of 1,738 entries, nearly filling the guaranteed prize pool of €300,000.
You can relive the atmosphere of the record-paced, action-packed final day by watching the livestream replay on YouTube, with commentary by Stefan “Hachi” Hachmeister:
“Bounty King” from 34th Place
An interesting aspect of this format is that the biggest financial rewards don't always go to the winner. The true “King of Bounty Prizes” was Germany's Christoph Sommerfeldt, who finished in 34th place with only €290 but managed to scoop an incredible €23,175 from Mystery Bounty envelopes.
The title was claimed by Peter Basner, who, after a five-player deal, took home €14,230, a King's Million EPC Package worth €3,000 (secured by all top 10 players), and bounty prizes totaling €8,550.
Basner's triumph underscored that the German poker school in Rozvadov was unparalleled, occupying the top four spots and boasting seven out of nine players at the final table from Germany.
The most successful player of the event was Dong He, who picked one of the two main Mystery Bounties worth €15,000, which, coupled with his 4th place finish, secured him the highest total financial profit of nearly €32,000.
