The Challenging Path of Joris Ruijs to the Title

The initial massive PS Open Main Event with a buy-in of €1,650 attracted enormous interest, as evidenced by a total of 1,634 entries. This helped push the total prize pool to an impressive €2,352,960.

Going into the final day, German Leon Sturm was a favorite and dominated as the chipleader for most of the day, but in the end, it was another name that stood out.

Dutch professional Joris Ruijs was a significant shortstack in the final three but managed to gradually seize the initiative. In the final heads-up, Ruijs and Sturm agreed on a deal, and Ruijs secured victory in the title play-off. 

Joris Ruijs claimed €317,398 for first place, while Leon Sturm took home €275,042.

For fans of four-card poker, the exclusive Omaha High Roller with a €30,000 buy-in was a key event. Although the field was relatively small with only 28 entries, it was of high quality, creating a prize pool of €817,740, divided among the top four players.

The overall winner was German player Dennis Weiss, a specialist in this discipline. He defeated Norwegian Erik Nordstrand in the final showdown, taking home a prize of €351,640. Another German representative, Jeremy Trojand, also made it to the podium.

The tournament was a showcase of global stars, with names like Mikita Badziakouski, Adrian Mateos, Stephen Chidwick, and Joao Vieira vying for the title.

Montenegrin player Dejan Kaladjurdjevic bested the fierce competition. In the final heads-up, he defeated Belarusian star Mikita Badziakouski, earning a stunning €727,115 for his triumph. For Kaladjurdjevic, who has already surpassed the $5 million mark in career winnings, this marks his first major title.
