Gening Dai's Dream Run
The 1,500 A$ Mystery Bounty, a fan-favorite format, saw tremendous interest with a total of 912 entries, reaching a prize pool of 1,185,600 A$. The star of the event was 25-year-old Monash University student Gening Dai, who initially planned this tournament as his last before heading home.
Dai, who considers himself a low-stakes player, turned his participation into a life-changing prize of 174,495 A$ after defeating Chester Swords in heads-up.
Jaxon Byrne was also pleased, finishing in 6th place while securing the largest individual bounty prize of 90,000 A$.
The tournament was not without controversy, as British pro Guy Taylor stalled play with a 15-minute “tank” deciding an all-in, over a relatively small financial jump of under 300 dollars.
